The
Hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes
has only one
insignia, a silver tone medal with the image of the
Virgin Mary carried on a blue and white ribbon with the
cross of St. Peter.
This cross is upside-down because, according to
tradition, that is how the Apostle Peter was crucified.
The cross of St. Peter represents the humility of those
who serve.
This unique insignia of Hospitality signifies that
the wearer belongs to the Hospitality of Our Lady of
Lourdes.
A member of Hospitality can ask to make a
"Commitment to Hospitality" and it is possible to
further confirm this service as a "Commitment to the
Church" celebrated at Mass in St. Joseph’s Chapel
within the Lourdes Sanctuary.
The image of the Virgin represents the attachment
that the Hospitaliers have to Lourdes. |
